Boundless Horizons brings together artists from Australia and the Western United States who utilize the context of outdoor environment in their practice. Many of the artists have collaborated in facilitating each other’s journeys, thus building a vehicle to access environments outside of their own immediate surroundings. Artists encounter remote indigenous sites to contemporary “Land works,” that elicit varying responses as the richness of the locations. Some work directly with the materials found in each site and incorporate issues of ecology, while others choose to take their inspiration back to the studio to formulate an answer. The work featured in the show has traveled to Canberra, Australia, Oceanside, California, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and will now be exhibited in Fort Collins, Colorado.
